How to See Who Unfollowed You on Instagram

Instagram does not tell you when someone unfollows you — your follower count just quietly drops. Here is how to find out who actually left, both manually and automatically.

Does Instagram notify you when someone unfollows?

No. Instagram never sends a notification for unfollows, and there is no native "who unfollowed me" list. You only see your total follower number change. To know who specifically left, you have to compare your follower list over time.

The manual method

You can do it by hand: open your followers list, note who is there, and compare it later. This is realistic only for small accounts — it is tedious and error-prone for anything larger. Instagram also keeps no history, so if you did not record yesterday's list, there is nothing to compare against today.

Using a follower tracker
